Reading Recovery is widely known for the high quality of professional development it provides at all levels. Reading Recovery uses a three-tiered approach University professors at University Training Centers (UTC) across the country train teacher leaders. Teacher Leaders train Reading Recovery teachers for local school districts. The UTC for New Hampshire is Lesley University in Cambridge. Lesley University All Reading Recovery teachers participate in a year long 6 credit graduate class their first year. After that, Reading Recovery teachers participate in on-going professional development both in their schools as well as at continuing contact sessions six times a year. The continuing contact sessions include the observation and discussion of live lessons taught behind a one-way mirror.
